On most cars, on the dashboard next to the fuel gauge, there is a petrol icon with an indicator arrow that points toward the side of the car the petrol cap is on.
If you are in a rental car, or if you forgot which side of the car the petrol cap is on, you can just look a the indicator arrow on the dashboard next to your fuel gauge.
- If the arrow points left, the car’s filler cap is on the left.
- If it points right, it’s on your right.
- If there is NO arrow – then it’s on the side that the fuel pump nozzle is on the picture.
